After a stoppage period due to pandemic conditions, this exchange Fair and its social currency, named the “Loom”, has finally returned to Covilhã’s Public Garden on June 26th.
After three years of structuring, the final version of Covilhã’s candidacy for UNESCO’s Creative City in the area of A space for partying, sharing, socializing and raising awareness for a more solidary economy, allowing to value the knowledge of the community and featuring a wide range of local and artisanal products through a program that included music, workshops, a play space for children, among others.
This fair is an opportunity to promote the local economy and the regional products or services, in order to value the great diversity of knowledge that our community possesses and to reflect on our consumption habits. Again, no euros were circulating. The “Loom” is the only currency and it can only be found in the Fair’s complex.
