From the 16th to the 20th of March, hundreds of visitors visited the Covilhã stand, at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa – BTL), a reference in tourism promotion in Portugal.
This year’s promotional space bets on a tribute to Cidade Fábrica with the representation of an industrial chimney lined with 100% recycled yarn produced by the company from Covilha J. Gomes. This is a range of yarns recycled through waste collected by the company that invests in sustainability policies.
The chimney, in addition to being an iconic element, is also a space for recreating the wool industry. The stand bets on new technologies and sensorial representation, allowing visitors to experience the different environments, through holograms and projections of the best that can be found in the municipality of Covilhã.
On the first day of BTL, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, was present at the Covilhã stand, in a very emotional visit, full of family memories.
For the Mayor, “this presence at BTL further reinforces the visibility of the Covilhã brand, associated with an identity that unites the past with modernity, assertively promoting strategic tourist products”, Vítor Pereira also reaffirms that, the municipality “will continue to focus on promoting a genuine and safe destination”.
